Projects
With such diversified expertise, Bugeco has established lasting and professional contacts all
over the world
Bugeco consists nowadays of an alliance of a number of independent experts, grouped together
under the Bugeco banner, all of whom have previously held senior positions in major mining
companies, or have established reputations as independent consultants in their own field.
It has, through this network of experts, an extraordinary wealth of contacts in the African mining
environment – not only with exploration and mining companies but also with governments at all levels.
It therefore generates a deal flow of opportunity for exploration and development projects,
the ‘pursuit value’ of which can be quickly determined.
While those experts continue to operate independently in their own disciplines, they contribute
as members of a team to provide expertise across the spectrum of mining activities from exploration
and evaluation to metallurgy, geophysics, engineering and project management.
CURRENT PROJECTS
* Consultancy
* Due Diligence
* Swala Resources
* Confidential Brokerage
* The Congo (DRC)
These include a growing demand for technical audits and ‘due diligence’ studies on behalf of government institutions, mining, finance and banking companies.
The company acts as project coordinator and provides technical services to Swala Resources Plc (www.swalaresources.com).
Increasingly, Bugeco is called upon to provide a link between those juniors seeking financing or development partners and majors or financial institutions. This brokerage is carried out on a very confidential basis.
In its own right, Bugeco has a wholly owned Congolese (DRC) subsidiary that owns diamond exploration licenses in Kasai Province. The original prospecting licenses obtained in 2003 covered an area of 20,000 km2. A great deal of work has been carried out at great expense in a joint venture with De Beers. Much of the original license area has been relinquished in accordance with DRC legislation. The current area of approximately 120 km2 hosts a cluster of 9 kimberlites with micro-diamonds that have been discovered.
