Exploration Projects
* In Mali, Bugeco executed a survey integrating geological mapping and mineral exploration. The surveyed area consisted of the square degree of Massigui (12.000 sq.km). A team of four Bugeco geologists, with logistic support of the National Direction of Geology and Mines from Bamako realised in a period of two years : a published geological map at 1/200.000 scale; a complete geochemical soil survey, a prospection by panned concentrates for gold and cassiterite and a detailed photogeological study of the morphology of the lateritic cover. Several gold anomalies were discovered of which one, the anomaly of Morila, currently exploited by RandGold Resources and AngloGold Ashanti.
* Also in Mali, a Canadian mining company contracted with Bugeco to carry out the evaluation of its concessions near Kayes. Services consisted in the provision of logistic support and the mineral exploration. The encountered results were promising and confirmed the presence of an important auriferous shear-zone.
* In joint venture with the Beers, Bugeco’s wholly owned subsidiary carried out since 2003 exploration work for diamond in the Kasai province of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
* Again in the Democratic Republic of Congo, in 2008 Bugeco with its partner Swala Resources Plc signed a Heads of Agreement with Anglo American Plc to explore a major geological feature identified by Bugeco believed to have significant PGM, base metals and nickel potential.
* In Burkina Faso, Bugeco is providing technical services to Swala Resources Plc who are in joint venture with SearchGold Resources Inc and is carrying out exploration work for gold in the North of the country.
