Mining Code Elaboration
Bugeco was often called by governments and private parties to review, evaluate and ameliorate countries' mining codes, particularly with the objective of attracting private investors. In the Republic of Congo, Burkina Faso, Mali and Mauritania, Bugeco evaluated the existing mining code and tabled improvements to attract investment. Bugeco also reviewed and evaluated the mining codes of the 10 SADC countries (Tanzania, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique, Angola, Malawi).
